Empire State Inspirations

Happy Chinese New Year!!

I’ve kept myself busy with PInc this CNY and over-dosed on Bak Kuah while at it. I’ve put together 2 new pieces: N230 & N231 that will join the PInc collection of necklaces. More pictures of me wearing the necklaces are available on PInc’s Facebook page. I’m so glad you all really loved the bracelets from last week’s collection. The orders are still coming in for it and I’m trying my best to accommodate everyone’s request :)

These two necklaces were put together with pieces and embelishments (like the Gold horn in N231) from New York, so it’s especially close to my heart. Every bit of winding and tweasing made me think of my time there last December. It’s a wonderful city with wonderful memories. I leave you here with memories of my American dream.

xoxo

Xīn Nián Kuài Lè!

Hello again!

I’m back with new pieces for Chinese New Year! I’m experimenting with some Jade-ish looking pieces I found and I’ve added a modern PInc touch to it. Tell me what you think: B116 & B117. By popular demand I’ve been asked to make another safety pin necklace as some of you didn’t get your hands on the last one, so I’ve made another one for this collection: N229. I’ve made it more sophisticated and used tortoise-shell safety pins to add some glamour to the piece. The other necklace I created is N228. Simple elegance with my favourite two-toned silk ribbons from New York.

I shall leave you here to enjoy the new collection. Xīn Nián Kuài Lè Nián Nián Yǒu Yú! I hope I got that correct :P

My time on the golf course has been made a truly fashionable one with the support of adidas by stella mccartney’s golf range. I can’t wait to see what the 2010 collection has in store for me :)

Here’s a short movie they have created on their new collection for running & gym. Enjoy!

Back from New York!

Hey you guys!

Hope you had a great new year. I’m back from New York and had such a blast. Apart from the freezing temperatures, it was nice spending time with Vince, Wayne, the family and my KC friends that went up as well. Those of you on my Facebook will be able to see pictures from my trip, anyway here’s a quick snippet.

Anyway, I bought heaps of materials, charms, beads, gems and fabric from New York, so here’s a sneak preview of what’s to come, I’m still in the midst of adding finishing touches…

Also great news… PInc will be featured in Herworld’s April issue!! Look out for it :)

I hope 2010 will be a wonderful year for everyone of you where all your dreams and goals will be achieved and beyond.

Later.

Christmas is here!

Hey fellas… what’s up!? I know I’ve been on quite a hiatus but after Vince took off, I was tasked with a project. PInc was asked to sponsor jewellery for a new Channel U series called “Cooking Without Clothes” staring Ann Kwok, Elizabeth Tan and Joseph Chang from Taiwan (apparently he’s quite a looker). The show will be broadcast next year on Jan 3 in Singapore and Taiwan, so I’ve been busy making pieces for them and I decided to upload some here… N225, N226 & N227. I’ve uploaded larger pictures of the necklaces on PInc’s Facebook Fanpage so go and have a look over there too.

Can you believe December is here already? Soon it’s going to be New Years and then welcome 2010. According to Roland Emmerich we only have 2 years to live, so I guess it’s time to quit your job and enjoy life. Yeah right. I’ll be heading down to New York in 2 weeks to visit my brother Wayne and spend Christmas and New Years with Vince and my family. Really looking forward to a white Christmas. I’ve never had one, so this is gonna be an experience.

Here’s wishing you a Blessed Christmas and a Rocking New Year. See you all in 2010 and hopefully I’ll have more goodies from New York to share with you.

xoxo,
Penelope

Zip-It

Hey you guys…

I just made a new necklace that I’d like to share with you – Zip-It. This necklace was made with zips that I sewed into a bouquet and two-toned silk ribbon that I used from the stash Mum bought in New York. I absolutely love these ribbons. They add a soft touch to anything and it was a tough choice choosing which colour to use for this necklace. I decided to be a little different this time and chose an apple Green that fades into a Brown. If you’re a PInc fan on Facebook, I have uploaded an extra picture of the necklace here. If you’re not a PInc fan yet, you can sign up by clicking on the “Be our Facebook fan” banner here.

The week has gone by super duper fast yet again. I can’t believe it’s already coming to Christmas! Where did the year go? Anyway, I’m playing in another tournament this Sunday, so wish me luck and hopefully this time I’ll bring home the Champion’s trophy. Will hope to share with you some good news in my next post.

See ya!

All aboard!

Hey guys…

What’s been happening? Well, a lot on my end since my last post. I’m not sure where to start…

Wayne got a posting to New York by his Bank so the house has become extremely quiet. We miss him terribly but we’re looking forward to seeing him at the end of the year when the family spends Christmas and New Years in the Big Apple. Vince also surprised me by showing up one week early :) Since his return, we’ve been playing catch up with friends and his family and a couple of rounds of golf here and there. Over the long weekend, Dad celebrated his 60th birthday aboard the Rising Tide. The family chartered a boat and we sailed to Kusu Island where Vince, Glenn and I took a dip in not so crystal clear water. It was a nice long weekend just hanging out with the family and enjoying more sun, something we don’t get to do very often so we make sure that we make the most of it when we do.

Oh and I guess the most motivating thing that happened this month was me winning my first ever sporting trophy! I was never a sports woman. I never liked going out in the sun. I never liked exercising. In fact I have never played any sport in my life. I was always the ballet-kinda girl having danced for 16 years of my life since I was 3. Anyway, since playing golf, I have gone against it all. I’m sunburnt to the extent of having panda eyes (coz I use sunnies when I play golf), my sock-lines are so horrid that i look almost hideous when I wear heals and I do nothing over the weekend by practice and practice for hours on end, and surprisingly, I’m very happy spending my weekends like that. So winning 1st runner up at the golf tournament organised by the Ministry for National Development was a huge achievement and motivation to keep up the healthy lifestyle :)

Anyway, amid all the activities, I’ve put together a piece inspired by Louis Vuitton’s new range. You know how every girl needs that little black dress, well I’m feeling the same way with this piece. Black silk fabric was carefully hand sewn onto Black nylon strips entwined to form loops and Black gems were sewn on to give it some bling. I’ll only be making 3 of these pieces coz it’s a hellava job to sew :P Check it out…N223

Till the next post, take care and enjoy the F1 weekend!

Long overdue post

New updates: E273, E274, E275, E276

This post is wayyyy overdue but I’ve been having so many damn problems with the server that I haven’t been able to log on to upload my stuff. Anyway I shall not get into that, I’m just glad it’s partially resolved now.

I had a hellava month in the US. We both never planned for this trip to be one full of entertainment and go see places - i did all of that the two times I went up - so this time, we spent hanging out and, just dating each other again. One thing I love about our relationship is that we started out as friends and i believe that built the foundation for what we have today and also the reason why this long distance thing isn’t as difficult as long distance relationships are supposed to be. And you know what? Apart from us-time, we both had a bout of the gastric flu that lasted for a week! I seriously thought I was going to die of swine flu, thinking that it was since I had the symptoms except I kept going to the toilet every five mins. That was a scary one. Glad it was over before I went on board the plane. There was no way I was gonna come home and spread anything (even if nothing) to anyone.

Anyway, here are some pics of the stuff we got up to. I always believe that pictures say way more than words can ever describe.

Here are some of the highlights from the trip:

1. Watched my first NBA game at Amway Arena - Magic vs Cavs
2. Hit a Hole-in-One - Prob THE highlight :)
3. Broke 90 for the first time. Shot an 86 on the Disney course
4. Mum and Dad came to visit us
5. Had the best sushi I’ve ever tasted in my life
6. Went nuts in the biggest Sanrio shop I’ve ever seen
7. Saw Chris Brown, Chris Tucker, Usher, Lil Wayne and Tiger Woods
8. Played on the most beautiful golf course ever - Bella Collina
9. Got sick from eating too much American food
10. Played golf with 11 and 13 year olds who whipped my ass every single time - how embarassing
11. Woke up smiling to myself from being cuddled every morning

Ok i really can go on.

Anyway guys, I’m happy to be back. I’m gonna continue to let my creativity get the better of me and see what radical ideas i come up with. I’m also very happy that PInc had great coverage in Style & Elle - June 2009 (You can read the full articles in the Press section). And most of all, to all the 93 new readers that subscribed to my website: Welcome to PInc and enjoy your stay!
